This game-changing release from Davidoff marks the first time in its rich history of cigar-making that Davidoff has released a Nicaraguan puro. The Davidoff Nicaragua was introduced to the world at a private launch event in Manhattan just before its global debut at the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas. We were on hand at both events and had a chance to taste the cigar blended by Davidoff’s cigar mastermind, Henke Kelner, several times. The cigar was unquestionably good, but it wasn’t until later in the year, when we tasted it again for the ratings section of the November/December 2013 issue, that the Davidoff Nicaragua’s true colors started to come through. The impeccably balanced and mouth watering profile — with notes of cream and cedar, complemented by nuts, earth, and spices — set this blend apart from anything we’d tasted throughout the year.
